 Join us on Sunday, October 18, 2015 for the third annual running of the Hambletonian Marathon & Good Time Trotters Relay in Goshen, Orange County, New York, about 60 miles north of New York City.  Run through the beautiful rolling roads, farm lands and trails of Orange County enjoying brilliant fall colors and amazing views as you go.  The finish line is on the Goshen Historic Horse Track and will include a Finish Line Festival with many post race activities!  Don’t miss it!

TRAINING RUN SUNDAY 10/5/14 – 12 MILES

 

Training run this Sunday 10/5/14 on the first loop of the course (12 miles).  This will be the last organized training run before race day.

Meet at 7 am at the start of the Heritage Trail in Goshen next to Trailside Treats (GPS address 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY).

Water & sports drink will be at mile 8 so carry enough for 8 miles.

TRAINING RUN SUNDAY 9/28/14 – 20 TO 21.3 MILES

 

Training run this Sunday 9/28/14 at 6:30 am at the START LINE on Main Street (we run past it on all of the training runs – across from Limoncello’s Restaurant near the statue – parking is at the pull in parking right on Main Street).

We will do the first loop PLUS the second loop to the Chester Depot for a total of 21.3 miles for our last long run before the marathon. If you want to stop at the 20 mile mark on Meadow Avenue that is fine, I will pick you up there!

There will be water & sports drink at mile 8 (entrance to the Heritage Trail on loop 1), back at the start area (mile 11.5), and from that point, I will be supporting from my car.

Rides will be provided from the Chester Depot back to Goshen to get your car. A few people are parking in Chester, so if you want to do that so you have your car when you finish, let me know and I will hook you up for a ride back to the start area before you start the run (the meeting time to be in Chester for a ride to the start would be 6:10 am).

Relay runners (or anyone else) if you would like to just do the first loop (11.5 miles) please join us at 6:30 for the start!

Training run Sunday September 21 on the first loop of the course (12 miles).

Meet at 7 am at the start of the Heritage Trail in Goshen next to Trailside Treats (GPS address 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY).

Training run this Sunday 9/14/14 – 19 miles is the distance!

We will start the second loop (14.5 miles) at 7 am from the Heritage Trail parking lot next to Trailside Treats (GPS address 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY) so you can add the extra 4.5 miles either before, after or in the middle of the run.

Water & sports drink will be in Chester next to the porta potty (10 miles from the 7 am start) so carry enough for 10 miles.

Training run SUNDAY September 7 on the first loop of the course (12 miles – we will add 1 mile before, during or after to make the 13 mile run that is on the schedule for this week).

Meet at 7 am at Trailside Treats at the start of the Heritage Trail in Goshen (GPS address is 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY).

Water & Gatorade will be at the 8 mile mark so carry enough for 8 miles.

If anyone wants to do the first 8 miles of the course only, email me (Kathleen) at info@hambletonianmarathon.com and I will try to get you a ride.

TRAINING RUN SUNDAY 8/31/14 – 18 MILES

 

Training run this SUNDAY 8/31/14 on the second loop (14 miles). The distance for the training this weekend is 18 miles so you can add 4 miles out and back on the trail either before, in the middle or after the 14 mile loop (your choice).

Meet at the start of the Heritage Trail in Goshen next to Trailside Treats (GPS address is 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY) at 7 am for the start of the second loop (go earlier if you want to add your extra distance first).

We won’t have a ride available from Chester this week so if you want to do the 10 mile option (Goshen to the Chester Depot) you will have to work out your own ride.

Water & Gatordade will be in Chester near the porta potty (10 mile mark) so carry enough for 10 miles.

TRAINING RUN SUNDAY AUGUST 24, 2014 (17, 14 or 10 MILES)

 

Training run this SUNDAY 8/24/14 on the second loop (14 miles). The distance for the training this weekend is 17 miles so you can add 3 miles out and back on the trail either before, in the middle or after the 14 mile loop (your choice).

Meet at the start of the Heritage Trail in Goshen next to Trailside Treats (GPS address is 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY) at 7 am for the start of the second loop (go earlier if you want to add your extra distance first).

If anyone wants to do 10 miles (relay runners?) meet at the Chester Depot at 6:40 for a ride back to Goshen for the 7 am start (please let me know if you’ll be doing this so we know to expect you).

Water & Gatordade will be in Chester near the porta potty (10 mile mark) so carry enough for 10 miles.

TRAINING RUN SUNDAY 8/17/14 – 8, 12 or 13 miles

 

Training run this weekend will be on SUNDAY 8/17/14 on the first loop of the course.  The posted training schedule has a 13 miler on tap, so we will run the full first loop for 12 miles and add 1 mile at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end (your choice).

Meet at 7 am at the start of the Heritage Trail in Goshen next to Trailside Treats (GPS address is 28 St. James Place, Goshen, NY) for the 12 or 13 miles.

If you would like to do the first 8 miles of the course (relay runners?) meet at the entrance to the trail off of Hartley Rd. at 6:40 am for a ride back to Goshen for the 7 am start.  Hartley Rd. is off of Route 17M across from LAM Electric (GPS address is 2681 Route 17M, Goshen, NY).  Once on Hartley Rd., drive about 1 mile to the entrance to the trail.

Water & sports drink will be at mile 8 so carry enough for 8 miles.
